Once again the VVMC NSW Chapter excelled themselves with their Sportsman Night at Pearlbrook.

Not only do these blokes bend over backwards to provide their guests with a great camping setup and a Clubhouse with facilities that you would kill for to have in your own backyard, they also go the extra yards by constantly keeping it all clean and tidy during the course of the day and well into the early hours of the morning.

I personally reckon, that, when you combine the above with all the largely unnoticed things the Vets are doing behind the scenes, that it serves to give a quality feel to the whole setup and that in turn is reflected in the attitude of the people attending, fair dinkum, it would be hard to find a better, more friendly crowd just about anywhere else in Oz.

Naturally all this comes at a price, but the entry fee of a mere twenty dollars would have even Scrooge shouting his mates when you take into account the fact that you get a meal ticket thrown in, drinks at very reasonable prices, and not forgetting of course, the exotic dancers.

Speaking of which, this years attendees certainly got a bevy of very talented girls, they were so enthusiastic that at times the stage was obviously way too small for them to let their hair down, so, much to the delight of the crowd they took the show along all the table tops and even did a sortie onto the bar.

Plenty of audience participation had the crowd cheering for more, and there was even one occasion where the old saying of “youth and vitality will always lose out to old age and cunning” proved wrong, as one young bloke on the opposite side of the room to where the girls pointed for a volunteer, literally clambered over the people in front of him and was up the stairs and onto the stage before anyone realized what had happened, needless to say he was very well rewarded for his effort, and even got a nod of approval from the older blokes for his initiative.

With the girls having departed after the final session, it was time to kick back and relax for a while prior to hitting the sack for a couple of hours shuteye before surfacing for the bacon and eggs breakfast served up by the Vets, then, with that money well spent feeling, head off home.

In closing, thanks to the Vets and all who attended for making it another great time at Pearlbrook, and also a big thanks to the girls for allowing me to once again to take photographs of them, see you there next year.

Don’t forget to check out the rider photos here to see if I got one of you.
