Sat 15th August Had breaky Garry from Ozbike doubled us to pick up our bikes, what a laugh, scooters. Crazy riding, no rules, don’t stop or worry what’s behind you just keep riding, dodge what’s in front of you and use the horn non stop. My Daughter Emma got thrown in the deep end as she is not a very good rider until now. As we left for the rally on our bikes Emma ran up the back of another bike and she didn’t stop so she’s learning real quick. I hit a parked car. Made it to the rally, Garry had organized crew passes for all of us. Emma crashed again in front of the organizers that greeted us. Wow there was a lot of rat bikes and bush mechanics and home made choppers. All bikes here were ridden and unbelievable mechanics after a few hours we went back to the motel for a swim. Trevor from Easyriders just happened to be staying in the same motel and of course met him at the bar by the pool. Cooled off, back to the rally for there drag racing. This is not the type of drag racing we are used to, these bikes were cross between a chook chaser and a mini rat bike. There were about 15 to 20 patch groups here. Brotherhood is the biggest 1% bike group in Bali with 1,500 members. Louise, Emma and I left just on dark, rode back, lost Louise, I had Emma on the back, we also got lost. 2 hours later after riding on footpaths, up one way streets and rode on the beach finally a Bali lady escorted us home. Found Louise she was just as lost as us. Everything looks the same the shops the streets and people. To finish the night off we went on a horse and cart ride to laugh at everyone riding in there crazy way. Lots of Bali people had their whole family on their bikes 4 to 5 of them. |
Sunday 16th August Had breaky then rode around shopping found this bath, you sit in and little fish suck your legs. Then back to the rally, 2.30 more drag racing and more patch clubs turn up, lots of HOGS, Geelong, Gold Coast and Yarra Chapter were there too. The bands were heavy metal and sung in Balinese. Trophies were carved timber things with funny categories’ like craziest bike. For their first rally it was well organized, lots of stalls, music and bikes. Really friendly people with all the same interests as us “bikers”, these guys can make a bike out of anything. A must for next year. |
