Numbers were down a bit this year due to most of NSW being in the middle of one hell of a heat wave, and you really couldn’t blame the coastal contingent for not heading inland given the weather conditions, it was a shame though because they missed out on another top show hosted by the Vets. Now, if you thought it was bloody hot during the day I can assure you that things got even hotter that night when the ladies took to the stage, and then to the tables and bar, to be honest, there really weren’t very many places they didn’t get to during the show.

A few of the regular attendees had taken advantage of the show and had arranged a couple of buck’s nights to coincide with the weekend, one group even having the added bonus of their buck being involved in one of the entertainers special effects segments. Noticeable this year was a larger number of younger bikers attending and worthy of note were the comments made by a couple of them to the effect, that, although they were a bit uncertain of the large crowd when they first arrived, that it hadn’t taken long to relax and really get stuck into enjoying themselves without constantly looking over their shoulders the way they have to in the city, in order to make sure some idiot wasn’t going to king hit them or something similar. It’s this sort of relaxed atmosphere that makes all the shows that the Vets host a cut above most non biker events, in fact it was so relaxed that a couple of blokes fell asleep outside the Clubhouse later that night, one of whom missed out on a bit of audience participation when a couple of the female guests cradled his ears with their tits for a photo opportunity, the poor bugger, he had a real good win and didn’t even know it.

Needless to say, even given the heat wave, it was another damn good way to spend a day in the company of some bloody good people, and as I have said before, you would be a mug if you missed the next one.

Thanks VVMC NSW Chapter for their great hospitality, and thank you to the entertainers for another ripper of a show. And, don’t forget that Thunderwest is on at Pearlbrook the 6th of February 2010.
