FRIDAY - Saw some pretty ominous weather reports for 'The Flat' and I made the conscious decision not to front on the day. Sleeping under the stars is fine - I just don't fancy mixing that , sub tropical downpours and surfing in my swag all in the one night. As it turned out Long Flat was hit by torrential and constant rain that resulted in a fall of some many inches of precipitation with a small river developing through much of the low lying parts of the camping area. The Pub 'filled' out in a hurry and dampened spirits were healed and enthused I'm told , by the copious consumption of comforting fluids. As you do ! SATURDAY - Morning showed better weather so I headed across to 'the Flat' - considering the prevailing weather the crowd had come from far and wide to enjoy another fun filled week end at Long Flat . Numerous local riders , AMC - H.O.G. - Port M. Bandidos 'MC' - IBF MNC then AMC Sunshine Coast - Longriders CMC - Patriots Wollongong - Dam Riders Warragamba - Walgett Wildcats - just to mention a few and then many more I didn't catch up with. Wandered about and got some evidence. |
With the camp starting to dry out the crowd had moved around the Pub - catching up with old mates from all over - imbibing as you must ! - and waiting for " the happenings " - Festa and his Night Rod set the mood and then the best burn out for the arvo , it's in the pics. With a new tyre fitted for the occasion this crowd pleasing Sporty rider put on a great show - one long extrapolated show !! - still going , still going then POP !! - Cheers by all ! |
Full marks to the Blue Lights for keeping out of town too! - didn't see one all day. - Bit different to Uralla hey ! - that's another story. Long Flat may well end up one of the last Bastilles. The girls at the LF Pub ( the 'Petticoat Junction' ladies ) had the place running well with staff levels as they should be - outside stubby bar set up and the grounds well prepared - the Unisex Galv. Loos added a country touch - thanks Ladies , you do a great job in supporting the event. - Takes a woman eh ? - OK - I can hear ya girls !! - The local LF Cafe catered for the crowd in professional style with a wide selection of tucka - thanks for the effort - no one went away hungry. ( If anyone's looking to get away from it all and fancies a country cafe this one's for sale - plenty passing traffic - freehold business + home and you get to see all the events over the year.) OK - big thanks to ' THE SHED ' organizers from Maitland - being a www.wwwildcat/papparazi does have it's benefits - thanks for the beer. Until next year then. Things to do - places to go - see ya out there. |
