VVMC NSW Sportsman Night 2007

I have to say that I am always impressed with FSB Pearlbrook as I ride around the last bend and see the Clubhouse surrounded by its well manicured camping areas spread out in front of me. The amount of consideration and hard work that the VVMC NSW Chapter have put into giving us a great place to pitch a tent or throw a swag is pretty evident as soon as you arrive, however it does not just stop there, that same principle is applied when they open their Clubhouse to guests, it does not matter who you are or what you ride, if you enter with the right attitude, the Vets always bend over backwards to make you more than welcome. Plus, unseen by most of the people attending the events, there is also a huge amount of behind the scenes work by the members that goes towards giving us all a good time, and once again this years Sportsman Night was no exception.

As with all the Vets events the modest entry fee has just about paid for itself before the entertainment has even begun, by the time you consider the meal ticket that’s included, the drink prices and the damn good company in which to consume them with, well, by the time the ladies arrive on the stage, they could only be considered as an added bonus, and I don’t think anyone who attended that night would disagree about just how good a bonus they were.

The ladies started off the first session on the stage, but I think they realised, that, with such a big crowd having turned up some of the folks up the back might not be getting as much value as those down the front, so, during the second session, leaving the stage and taking to the tables scattered around the Clubhouse, they took the show to them, now there must have been a couple of blokes there whose skin was looking a bit dry from the days riding, because one of the ladies kindly applied some cream to their faces, I’m not sure if it was the medicinal content of the cream or its slightly unusual method of application that did the job, but it certainly brought a new glow to their cheeks. The contents of the ladies toy boxes and a bit more audience participation kept the show rolling along nicely, until, finally rounding off the night with their third session all the ladies took to the stage together for a finale that would have put the pulse rate of anyone there with a slightly dodgy heart into the danger zone, although fortunately, if someone did take a bit of a turn, they would no doubt be in good hands because one of the ladies earlier costumes indicated that she was a nurse.

With the show finally over it was off to bed for most of us, although a few die-hards made it through to sunrise and the smell of bacon and egg rolls being cooked by the Vets for our breakfast. All up another damn good nights entertainment from the VVMC NSW Chapter, and you would be a mug if you didn’t make every effort to get there next time.
